“You’re never good enough.”
Your Inner Critic wants to do it all and have it all. She tells you that unless you meet her ideal picture of how your life “should” be, it’s not good enough. No matter what you accomplish, your Inner Critic thinks you can do better. She’ll keep you quiet in that work meeting because your idea isn’t ready to present to the boss yet. She’ll shame you into feeling like you’ve screwed everything up by keeping you on a never-ending cycle of feeling everything needs to be “right”.
The only way to move past the “shoulds” in your life is to give up your need to constantly be perfect. Being a perfectionist is a losing battle. Instead, you need to focus on getting comfortable with being perfectly imperfect so you can step into a joyful life no matter what is happening.
